Take a hike!

I am an avid hiker that prefers the unbeaten path. Living in the Hudson Valley affords me the opportunity to explore some of the hidden gems that lay tucked away in the woods and reclaimed by nature. I love to capture images of interesting landscapes, wildlife and architecture. I try to do extensive research on the places I visit to get the most out of the hike.

The reason why I began this blog is that whenever I researched a hike, the websites I found, had little or no images depicting the area. I also found little or no information of the ruins, mines, elevation gain, etc. I had to scour the internet for all relevant info and images, which was very time consuming and sometimes proved fruitless. With this website, I have tried to create a sort of “one stop shop,” where others would be able to seek out all the information that they need, including images, in one location. I hope that I have succeeded in this effort and welcome any and all feedback on how to improve the site.

I am both a published writer and photographer and try to incorporate these skill sets in my blog. My goal is to paint a picture of my hikes with words as well as images. The Hudson Valley is so rich in history that I get a history lesson with every hike and try to share what I learn with others.

This website documents my hikes and explorations and hopefully will serve as a useful tool for others that are interested in exploring the outdoors. This site has evolved over time and has become more informative. I try to include some history of the areas and trails that I hike whenever possible. Have a look around and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to Contact me. Now get out there and take a hike!
